Metlaoui is located in southern Tunisia, on the northern edge of the Sahara Desert. Far away from the big cities and the fertile regions of the country, special values have been established over the years: solidarity and loyalty are important pillars of society.

Most of the people there know each other from infancy, some even from birth, and mostly also their parents knew each other as children - it seems that everybody knows everyone in this city. Especially as a teenager and adolescent this can of course become a problem and fuel the desire to go somewhere else, especially if the state creates little prospects on the ground. It is even more important to have people behind you in difficult times that you can rely on.

This is a story about growing up, longings and lifelong friendships.
