Mirage Mirage is a series of photographs shot on one single roll of 35mm colour film in the Sahara Desert, Morocco, March 2018. The surreal atmospheres are achieved in the darkroom via chemical experimentation. Originally from Spain and based in London, Rox has always felt fascination for the Sahara, where she explores evocative visions and preconceptions of the quintessential desert in this series taken over the course of one day. This restrictive use of time and resources further conveys the feeling of ephemerality on a landscape as ever-changing, yet famously engraved in clichés in the imagination, thus attempting to represent the Sahara as well as the idea of it.
