When school ends, the streets of Chefchaouen vibrate with running, shouting and laughter. Children's whispers await at every corner.

Just like in the children's game "Fairy Footsteps", these children are guardians of their temple. Our shrine. Everyone's shrine.

Sweet, sparkling, fluorescent joy is what they guard for us. Always latent. Always glowing. Let us strive to remember it and let it out again. Let the bones in our chest break and let their raw joy come out. The joy they have kept alive for us.
