Médaille de bronze dans la sous-catégorie « Dans le Maghreb »
In the heart of Fes’s ancient medina, the Chouara Tannery unfolds like a living palette — its stone vats arranged in a mosaic of color and tradition. Each photograph captures a fragment of this ancestral theatre: artisans immersed in their craft, hides soaking in natural dyes, and the sun casting golden light on centuries-old gestures.
The pungent scent, almost tangible through the lens, reminds us that beauty here is earned — through repetition, resilience, and inherited knowledge. Figures blend into the textures of leather and stone, suspended between heritage and hardship, between brilliance and rawness.
Through this series, I sought to capture the intensity of a place where time stands still, where every hue tells a story of transformation — not only of leather, but of the hands and lives that shape it.
