This project started with something simple I often did without thinking: just sitting and looking at Mount Bou Kornine. I was drawn to how it stood quietly by the Mediterranean Sea, how the light changed, how the sky and water shifted in color. The mountain never moved. It felt like a painting I could return to again and again.

Through 7 photographs, we see people, birds, waves passing through the frame, each moment is unique. But in the background, always present: Mount Bou Kornine.

Inspired by the Tunisian proverb “ما يبقى في الواد كان حجرو”, the work reflects on how life moves and changes, while some things like the mountain and the sea stay the same. Bou Kornine, known as the “Father of Two Horns,” stands like a silent guardian over the coast. A familiar shape to anyone from this land, always there, always watching.

This series is not about dramatic events. It’s about everyday life, quiet moments, and how places can hold memory. While people come and go, and time moves forward, the stone remains.
