Sitara Part One
I experience and see Moroccan Maghreb through daydreaming eyes. After spending much of my childhood as a foreigner living in Morocco and traveling with the Blue Men deep into the Sahara as a child, Morocco remains with me as part fantasy, part nostalgia. My father died in Morocco over a decade ago and I often return to Morocco to pay blessing to his grave. When I photograph Morocco it is still through the eyes of a bewildered child. I deconstruct what is exotified by the West by distilling imagery from exotic beauty to the simplicity of color, shape, tone of the Maghreb. This is Part One in a series of my last return.
