HANDS OF CAIRO - @missgolightly
Cities tell their stories through the people who work in them. In Cairo, work remains deeply visible: in the bakeries that produce bread for the neighborhood, in the markets, workshops, and small studios where ancient skills continue to be passed down from one generation to the next.
These photographs celebrate the dignity of craftsmanship and the relationship between people, skills, and community. Rather than documenting individual professions, the project explores the role that manual work plays in shaping the identity of a city and the people who call it home.
