Inherited Presence is an ongoing photographic project that explores how the human figure dissolves and transforms through interaction with natural elements, existing within a shifting space between body and landscape. Working between figuration and abstraction, I focus on moments where the body begins to loosen, dissolve, and re-emerge through contact with wind, water, and terrain.

The project began as a personal search for connection to my roots, shaped by a sense of distance from language and place. Rather than constructing images, I work intuitively and in direct response to the environment. Movement, material, and external forces actively shape the outcome, allowing each image to emerge through a process of interaction rather than control.

Within this process, the figure becomes unstable. It is no longer a fixed subject, but something that continuously shifts — at times merging with the landscape, at others re-emerging from it. I am drawn to this in-between state, where presence and absence overlap, and where identity is not clearly defined but constantly transforming.

In the more recent phase of the project, water has become a central element. It introduces reflection, distortion, and fluidity, allowing the work to move further toward abstraction. Through this, the figure becomes increasingly fragmented and dispersed, reinforcing the idea of presence as something relational and in constant transformation.

Presented as a series, Inherited Presence unfolds as a visual progression — from form to dissolution, from body to landscape — creating a rhythm between tension and stillness. The work invites the viewer into an open space where meaning is never fixed, but continuously shifting.
