A Seat of a Generation is a portrait series exploring the emotional landscape of young Tunisians navigating a reality shaped by uncertainty, ambition and constant transition. In a society where expectations often collide with limited opportunities, the journey toward identity and belonging becomes both personal and collective.

The chair serves as the central symbol throughout the series. More than a physical object, it represents a space of pause, reflection and confrontation with oneself. Each subject occupies the same chair, transforming it into a shared ground where individual stories merge into the portrait of a generation.

Created using a single elongated light source, the images rely on a minimal visual language where darkness is as significant as light. Faces and bodies emerge only partially from the shadows, revealing fragments while concealing others. This deliberate tension reflects the condition of many young people whose aspirations, doubts and struggles often remain unseen.

Through silence, stillness, and the interplay of light and shadow, the series seeks to capture the fragile space between who we are and who we hope to become. These portraits are not only about the individuals depicted they are about a generation searching for direction, recognition and a place within an ever changing world.
