Silent Witnesses: Fukushima 2011–2026 is a long-term documentary project tracing landscapes transformed by the Great East Japan Earthquake, tsunami, and Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster.

Photographed over fifteen years, the series moves through abandoned towns, contaminated soil storage sites, seawalls, disappearing neighborhoods, solar developments, and places where daily life slowly re-emerges.

These photographs do not focus on the catastrophe itself, but on the quiet transformation of a territory shaped by memory, policy, reconstruction, and absence.

In Fukushima, absence has become part of the landscape itself. The work reflects on how time accumulates in places marked by invisible damage, and how ordinary scenery can carry the traces of unresolved history.
