Public celebrations and amusement parks are often full of larger-than-life spectacle, colors, and sounds. Pull back the curtain, though, and you'll notice moments of tension and discomfort. There's a visual disconnect between the exciting surroundings and the humans who should be having a thrilling time, but aren't. In this series, I strive to depict that irony, capturing our deep human longing for joy beyond what the best things on earth can offer.
