In southern Madagascar, in a remote forest area where there are no ambulances and no one owns a car, stands a hospital reachable only on foot. Patients arrive after hours of walking, accompanied by their families.

I spent several days as a volunteer inside the hospital and met these people: not the patients, but the relatives who accompany and care for them. Silent and constant presences, indispensable yet almost invisible, they remain for days or weeks beside their loved ones, transforming the hospital into their temporary home.

They are the ones who wash the floors every day and cook for the patients on makeshift fires. Simple actions that become forms of care, resistance, and spontaneous solidarity between people who previously did not know each other.

These photographs aim to tell the story of what happens on the margins of the healing process:

a wait that becomes everyday life.

The project aims to make visible what normally goes unnoticed: the silent strength of relationships, the ability to adapt even in the most precarious contexts, and the humanity that continues to manifest itself in the simplest details of daily life.
