Oulja Artisan Complex was officially closed by government authorities as of July 14th due to the continued redevelopment by the city of Salé . The artists will be relocated to a much smaller venue for several years. The costs of transportation, relocation, and storage are not being funded. The artisans are losing their businesses and main sources of income. This is a series of photos I took two days before they closed; photos of people who have worked there for years, their artisanal goods, as well as the atmosphere of the historical complex. As a photographer, I wanted to support them by documenting their last days and by sending them my photos. I will continue to document their journey through the forced development.
