Desert Desert (Ar Rub Al Khali) has been my main topic for many years. I only use traditional black and white film and a medium format camera to capture the symmetrical shapes of the dunes. Many people think that deserts are an easy subject due to the regularity of shapes and the natural, pristine beauty of the dunes. However, my experience contradicts these common opinions and I know how many difficulties have to be overcome before achieving satisfactory results. The harsh and dangerous conditions in deserts mostly limit our capabilities not only as photographers, but also as humans.
