“December, 2011, Beni Mellal, Morocco
15 minuets of terror. I question my sanity, as the airplane slowly rises over the edge of the middle atlas mountains and an endless hilly landscape appears in the crystal clear winter air. Why, at 3:42 last night in a night club, did I agree to join two stranger in their endeavour to jump out of a flying tin box? I’m afraid of heights! Why did I spend my last money? I was supposed to pay rent! Why didn't I just finish the boring photo job and take the bus home to Casablanca? What am I doing here? In the air over Morocco! What has my life come to? Then the door opens and my heart skips. The terror peaks. We jump. And as awe, bliss and wonderment fills my heart, I remember; I am here to face my fears and learn to fall.â€
“Learning to fall†is an excerpt from my ongoing long term personal project: intra-morocco
A kaleidoscopic and intimate visual journey though seven years and ten trips to Morocco.
A country that has come to play an unexpected role in my life.
During my first trip in 2010 I fell in love with a country and culture rich in diversity and color.
It has taught me about the world, but even more about myself.
